Course Description:
The Maryland Board of Nursing requires completion of the Forensic Nurse Examiner Adolescent/Adult course and subsequent clinical training to apply for certification as Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE-A). The course provided at GBMC is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON). Persons interested in becoming certified as an FNE-A must have 18 months continuous experience in a clinical setting.
The FNE-A (SAFE nurse) provides services for victims of sexual assault, ages 13 and above.
