Call your Senators TODAY - VAWA Vote Tomorrow

Feb 06th, 2013

This is a critical time for the future of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and we need you to act today.  We are fortunate in Maryland that both of our Senators are strong supporters and we want them to know we appreciate everything they do to end sexual violence and that we are 100% behind this bill. The motion to proceed to VAWA passed the Senate yesterday and we just heard that they will vote tomorrow, Thursday, February 7. Please call our Senators now to urge them to vote YES on S. 47 without amendments. Say: “I am a constituent from (city) in Maryland and my name is _________. I want to thank Senator {either Mikulski or Cardin} for all of their work to end sexual violence.  I'm calling to ask for her/him to vote yes on S. 47, a strong, bipartisan bill that would reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act – and to oppose any amendments that are introduced.
