MCASA provides training on a variety of topics for professionals working in the fields of sexual assault prevention and response. Training is tailored to professionals and volunteers who work in a particular area, such as victim advocacy, law enforcement, college sexual assault response, and other fields related to sexual assault prevention and response. MCASA's Live Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Fundamentals Training (SAVAT) Series is an virtual training that is offered at least two times a year: once in the Fall and once in the Winter or Spring. The training provides a foundation for best practices for advocates in the field of sexual assault services through a series of live training sessions and self-paced learning modules.
MCASA’s Self-Paced Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Training (SAVAT) Program is modeled off of the Live SAVAT Series. This Self-Paced Training is 100% online and remote, designed for new advocates who work directly with sexual assault survivors in Maryland. This program includes foundational self-paced learning modules and pre-recorded training sessions that you may complete in any order to best support your professional development.

MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Series is a 6-part webinar series, hosted every year from September to April. These training sessions are tailored to college and university staff, community advocates, and other service providers who do sexual assault prevention and response work with college and university students. Facilitated by a combination of MCASA staff and national experts, these workshops explore important and trending topics impacting student sexual assault survivors. MCASA has produced online learning modules on various topics addressing sexual assault prevention and response. These training courses are designed to be completed at your own pace. After completing each course, you may request a Certificate of Completion for Social Work and Maryland Victim Advocate CEUs.
MCASA creates and provides training to address the specific needs of professionals who work with survivors of sexual assault. MCASA compiles a variety of online training sessions regarding sexual violence in Maryland and in the United States. All webinars, videos, and self-paced training modules are free to access. However, some training sessions may require registration or a subscription to the organization.
This two-day training is for Maryland Law Enforcement Agencies who investigate sexual assaults, Maryland Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) coordinators, and SART member agencies.
This training covers recent sexual assault evidence kit (SAEK) policies and the state's implementation of the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) grant.
