MCASA E-lert: No Twitter? Make Calls- Victim Funding Needs Your Help on March 4th

Mar 03rd, 2022

Join us Tomorrow, March 4th from 12 - 1pm on Twitter
or with phone calls (410-974-3901) and emails to #SaveVOCA!

If you don't have Twitter, use the message below to call or email Governor Hogan tomorrow to ask him to act now to protect Maryland survivors.

A crisis is coming on Governor Hogan's watch. VOCA Funds for critical victim services will be drastically reduced this year.  This gap in funding will leave Maryland's victims of crime without the help they need.

Despite advocacy efforts, Governor Hogan still has not added more victim services funding to the budget. The temporary funding gap can easily be filled using Maryland's historic budget surplus. Funds for services such as counseling, advocacy, domestic violence shelters, child advocacy centers, support for rape victims at the hospital, and victim-witness support in court will disappear unless Governor Hogan acts now

TOMORROW (3/4): Join the Twitter Storm, call, or email the Governor's Office from 12pm - 1pm ET to tell Governor Hogan to fund the gap and save VOCA!
