MCASA E-lert: Urge House To Vote Favorably On HB122

Feb 22nd, 2019

House to Vote on Protective Order Bill on Thursday:
Urge Your Delegates to Vote YES on HB 122

Last week the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony and voted favorably on HB 122: Protective Orders – Relief Eligibility – Rape and Sexual Offenses.  This bill, sponsored in the House by Delegate Kathleen Dumais, will remove the current one year time limit on filing for a protective order based on sexual offenses against someone who is not an intimate partner and clarify applicability of the protective order statute.

Tomorrow, Thursday, February 21, 2019, the full House will vote on this important legislation.

The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) asks you to contact your delegates immediately and urge them to vote favorably on this bill.

Contact information for your delegates is available here.
