MCASA in the News: Maryland prepares for big boost in victim services funding

Aug 24th, 2015

The Baltimore Sun reported on an increase in federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding for victim services in Maryland. The more than four-fold increase comes after several years of funding levels remaining flat. The increase will fund legal services, counseling, and support groups for victims of crime. MCASA's Executive Director, Lisae Jordan, Esq., is quoted in the article.
"'There's a real sense of justice in using this money to support survivors,' said Lisae Jordan, executive director of the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault, which receives money from the national fund to help provide legal services to sex crime victims."
