MCASA in the News: Molly Shattuck sentenced to 48 weekends in community corrections center in Del. rape case

By Alison Knezevich The Baltimore Sun The Baltimore Sun reported on Molly Shattuck's sentencing. Shattuck, a former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader, plead guilty to raping a 15-year-old boy. She received the maximum sentence of 15 years, but the judge suspended all but 48 weekends of her prison time. She will spend every other weekend at a secure probation center for a total of 48 weekends. MCASA's Executive Director Lisae Jordan, Esq., was quoted in the article.

"...[H]er sentence drew criticism from some victims' advocates. Lisae C. Jordan, executive director of the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault, called it 'totally inappropriate.' 'It's certainly a significant accommodation to a defendant to allow a sentence to be served on weekends, much less every other weekend,' she said."
