State Budget Passes the House with Protections for Survivor Services - Now Onto the Senate!

Mar 26th, 2025

Thank you:

  • Chair Ben Barnes;
  • Chair Vanessa Atterbeary; and
  • The House of Delegates

for supporting victims services and survivors of sexual violence!

Today, the House:

  • Rejected proposals to cut victim services by $10 million;
  • Rejected removing $4 million from the Rape Kit Testing Fund; and
  • Continued support for community based rape crisis centers.

Thank you for reaffirming Maryland's support for sexual assault survivors!

The Senate will vote on the state budget soon. Contact your Senator today to urge them to join the House in protecting sexual assault survivors.
