MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Session #5: Leading Off the Field: Bridging the Gap Between Sports and Campus Sexual Assault Prevention Initiatives

Join us for MCASA's Virtual Campus Training Session #5!

Student athletes often have a unique influence on college campuses. Sometimes, athletic culture can create barriers to sexual violence prevention and response efforts. This training explores how campus professionals can effectively engage athletic departments, coaches, and student athletes in sexual violence awareness initiatives.

In this session, participants will:

  • Examine the intersection of sports culture and sexual violence,
  • Discuss strategies to foster accountability and leadership within athletic communities,
  • Learn best practices for collaboration and bridging the gap between athletic communities and campus prevention efforts.

MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Series is a 6-part webinar series, hosted every year from September to April. These training sessions are tailored to college and university staff, as well as community advocates and other service providers, who do sexual assault prevention and response work with college and university students. Facilitated by a combination of MCASA staff and national experts, these workshops explore important and trending topics impacting student sexual assault survivors. You can find past Virtual Campus Training sessions on MCASA's website and YouTube Channel.

Important Notes:

  • This training will occur in Eastern Standard Time.
  • This training will be recorded and made available to registrants.
  • Social work CEU credit hours can be requested at the end of the training whether you attend the training live or watch the recording.
