This training focuses on the dynamics and breadth of sexual violence in correctional facilities, using an intersectional framework to examine how sexual violence impacts various identity markers. Additionally, this training highlights the value of trauma informed care when working with incarcerated survivors, including a review of the symptoms of trauma and their potential expressions in an incarceration environment.
This training is intended for all service providers who work with incarcerated survivors or support the implementation of the Prison Rape Elimination Action (PREA) -- advocates, therapists attorneys, law enforcement, medical staff, correctional facility staff, etc.
