Virtual Campus Training Session #1: When Sexual Violence Goes Digital Presented by EndTAB

As digital dating and online intimacy have continued to increase, it has now become necessary for students to understand how to prevent and respond to
the common and emerging risks that exist in online spaces. Fortunately, by (1) raising awareness around the ways sexual violence has gone digital and (2) providing practical skills to navigate these challenges, students can live healthier and safer lives online.

This interactive session presented by Adam Dodge from EndTAB will discuss:

  • Demystifying the current online sexual violence landscape
  • How students can navigate and prevent common challenges including:
    • lmpersonation/Catfishing
    • Sextortion
    • Cyber-flashing
    • Romance Scams
    • Recruiting/Grooming
    • Stalking
    • Harassment
    • Rejection Violence
  • Emerging Issues including Deepfakes and X-Ray Apps
  • Setting up dating profiles safely
  • Reporting abuse on dating apps
  • Why consent and safety shouldn't change in online dating spaces (even though it often does) and how we can be more resilient
  • How focusing on the behavior, and not the technology, can serve students now and in the future.
