Webinar -  HIV Prophylaxis (nPEP) Pilot Program for Victims of Sexual Assault

The Maryland Hospital Association, in partnership with the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services, will host a webinar on Wednesday, August 4th on the state's HIV Prophylaxis (nPEP) Pilot Program for Victims of Sexual Assault to discuss opportunities to coordinte with Maryland-based Terrapin Pharmacy.

The Pilot Program was established in 2019 to ensure all victims of sexual assault who meet applicable clinical guidelines have access to nPEP medication free of charge. A sexual assault forensic examination is not require for patients to receive nPEP.

The state has partnered with Terrapin Pharmacy to provide medication to patients if the hospital is unable to provide the full 28-day course of treatment at the time of discharge. Terrapin can provide medications to patients via mail delivery or courier to an address of their choice in private and secure packaging. Hospitals who have successfully partnered with Terrapin will share their experience and answer questions. Representatives from Terrapin Pharmacy will also be available to answer questions. This webinar will be recorded and distributed afterward.
