What is Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy?

The psychedelic renaissance is here.  After decades of significant research being closed down, we are now in the midst of an exciting re-emergence of scholarship and research to explore the healing potential of these amazing compounds.  Specifically, studies of MDMA Assisted Therapy have shown to significantly reduce symptoms of severe PTSD in 88% of participants with 67% of participants no longer meeting the diagnostic criteria for this indication.*  The FDA has designated MDMA assisted therapy as a breakthrough therapy.  This treatment is very promising for survivors of sexual assault who suffer from PTSD.

This introductory workshop to psychedelic assisted therapy will provide an overview of the history and types of these medicines, the mechanisms of action, the course of therapy and the role of the therapist.  The workshop will address common misconceptions of these medicines and demonstrate their potential to transform mental health treatment.
