Certified Forensic Nurse Examiner-Adult/Adolescent Course

2022 Course Dates: November 7, 8, 9 & November 14 & 15

Time: 8am-4pm Daily

The Maryland Board of Nursing requires completion of the Forensic Nurse Examiner Adolescent/Adult course and subsequent clinical training to apply for certification as Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE-A). The course provided at GBMC is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON). Persons interested in becoming certified as an FNE-A must have 18 months continuous experience in a clinical setting prior to applying for a Forensic Nursing position.

The FNE-A (Forensic Nurse) provides medical- forensic treatment to patient's 13 and older who are seeking medical-forensic treatment for sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. Applicants will also have the opportunity to sit for a Pediatric Course if interested.

Cost: $300.00 (Includes binder with materials and thumb drive of presentation slides.) Fee payable in advance. Please make check or money order payable to the GBMC SAFE Program. Register on this page prior to sending in your registration fee.

You must be a Registered Nurse with at least 18 months experience to sit for this course.

All attendees will be awarded 40 CEU's upon completion of the course.
