Forensic Nurse Examiner Adult/Adolescent (FNE-A) Clinical Training (May 2025)

This is an in-person, FNE-A clincial training workshop, hosted at UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center. This training features specially trained Forensic Training Assistants. 

Registration Information: 

• Registration and fee are due by Friday, May 23, 2025.
  • No refunds after May 23, 2025. 
    • Registration fee: $150.00 
    • Lunch is included in the registration fee.

Scholarships:

• Scholarships are available to nurses who plan to work in Maryland as an FNE-A.

Included in this Training: 

• Skills training with live models, Forensic Training Assistants (FTA), to learn and practice:
  • Interacting with a sexual assault patient utilizing trauma-informed language;
  • Various patient positioning for exam;
  • Vaginal exam techniques including separation and traction, hymenal tracing, and identifying vaginal structures;
  • Inserting speculums into the vagina, locating the cervix, and collecting vaginal swabs;
  • Conducting a head-to-toe medical forensic evidence collection examination.
• Lunch is provided during the training day.
