This training is part of a four part Lunch and Learn series for Money Matters. The Money Matters project focuses on the financial impact that sexual assault has on survivors' financial health, and aims to increase the financial stability and security of sexual assault survivors to support their recovery and prevent future violence. This is achieved, in part, by examining legal remedies available to support survivors' economic empowerment.
Money Matters: Credit Restoration, Debt, and Bankruptcy will discuss strategies to address and restore a survivor's credit, rights with debt collectors, and an overview of bankruptcy as a way to restore a survivor's financial health. This training is intended for advocates and attorneys who work with survivors. This training is especially helpful for those seeking an introductory discussion of potential remedies to help survivors rebuild their financial health.
