During the 2023 legislative session, MCASA continued to advocate in Annapolis for the needs of sexual assault survivors and the programs that serve them. Long-standing priorities were finally passed and new initiatives met with success.

This Lunch and Learn debrief will highlight important new laws related to sexual assault prevention and response. This includes information on the repeal of marriage as a defense to sex crimes, elimination of the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse survivors, Maryland’s new safe harbor for minor victims of sex trafficking, and more.
