MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Session #1: Legal Rights, Resources, & Policies for LGBTQ+ Student Survivors of Sexual Assault

Join us on Thursday, September 25th, at 1 PM EST, for MCASA's Virtual Campus Training Session #1: Legal Rights, Resources, & Policies for LGBTQ+ Student Survivors of Sexual Assault! All are welcome! 

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to...

  • Identify and use appropriate language when working with LGBTQ+ survivors
  • Describe barriers to reporting sexual assault that all student survivors may experience and additional barriers that LGBTQ+ student survivors may face
  • Identify and recall at least three legal rights and protections for student sexual assault survivors and specifically how those rights and protections apply to LGBTQ+ student survivors 
  • Analyze, assess, and improve school policies that address and prevent discrimination against LGBTQ+ students 

MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Series is a 6-part webinar series, hosted every year from September to April. These training sessions are tailored to college and university staff, as well as community advocates and other service providers, who do sexual assault prevention and response work with college and university students.  Facilitated by a combination of MCASA staff and national experts, these workshops explore important and trending topics impacting all student sexual assault survivors. Important Notes: 

  • This training will occur in Eastern Standard Time. 
  • This training will be recorded and made available to registrants. 
  • Certificates of Attendance and Certificates for Social Work CEU credit can be requested after the training session whether you attend live or watch the recording. 
    • You can expect to receive your requested certificate within 4-5 weeks of submitting the Certificate Request Form.
