Colleges campuses are great partners in sexual violence prevention here in Maryland and across the country. We wanted to highlight some of the many ways Maryland colleges and universities can get involved with MCASA to expand prevention and response efforts on your campus.

College Consortium

In the spring of 2001, MCASA established the College Consortium to address sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking on Maryland’s college and university campuses. The Consortium is a statewide network of college staff and other professionals that works collectively to prevent violence and respond to the needs of student survivors on Maryland campuses.

  • As members of our College Consortium, Maryland campuses receive:
  • Free training by request with MCASA staff, including trainings on prevention, bystander intervention, and working with underserved populations such as LGBTQ+ students and students with disabilities.
  • Invitations to participate in quarterly roundtables with other college leaders, prevention staff, and Title IX Coordinators.
  • Resource sharing and email updates.
  • Personalized review of campus policy, curriculum, and other prevention and response efforts.
  • Customized training materials, including online prevention modules.
  • Discounted tickets for some MCASA events, and more!

When a college or university joins the College Consortium, the school name will also be added to MCASA’s website. To learn more about MCASA membership and join the college consortium, please click here

Virtual Campus Training Series

MCASA’s Virtual Campus Training Series is a 6-part webinar series, hosted every academic year across the fall and spring semesters. These training sessions are tailored to college and university staff, community advocates, and other service providers who do sexual assault prevention and response work with college and university students. Facilitated by a combination of MCASA staff and national experts, these workshops explore important and trending topics impacting student sexual assault survivors. You can find past Virtual Campus Training sessions in MCASA's Online Training Library and on our YouTube channel.

Prevention Roundtable

MCASA also coordinates a virtual prevention roundtable series. These sessions create a space for preventionists and educators across the state to come together to connect and share ideas. If you would like to be added to our email list to learn more, please fill out the Interest Form and we will follow up with you!

Training and Technical Assistance

MCASA staff are also available for trainings by request and technical assistance to support your campus prevention and response efforts. This is an opportunity to delve into the more specific needs and questions of your community. MCASA can customize training for your campus based on your needs. Please complete MCASA’s Training and Outreach Request Form to request a training workshop for your organization.
